Applications for Century, Half Century Awards

Posted: Friday, January 4, 2019

“The Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) is now accepting applications for the Governor’s Century and Half Century Business Awards,” said State Senator Andy Zay, R-Huntington. The awards, which will be announced in the spring, honor Indiana businesses that have operated in our state for 50 or 100 years and demonstrated a commitment to serving their community.

According to the IEDC, to be considered, businesses must: have had continuous operations in Indiana for more than 50 or 100 years by December 31, 2018; participated in the same line of work for the duration of its operations. If different, an explanation of the evolution into the current business must be provided on the nomination form; have had its base in the state of Indiana since it was founded; recognize, acknowledge and agree that it is in full compliance with the Indiana Secretary of State, Department of Revenue and Department of Workforce Development by signing the application and not previously received a Century or Half Century Award from the state of Indiana. Previous Half Century Award recipients may qualify for a Century Award.

To qualify for the award, this does not need to be 50 or 100 years of being in business. If you have not received either award and have more than 50 or 100 years in business, you still qualify. The deadline to submit an application is Thursday, February 21. Those who meet the criteria can apply by visiting iedc.formstack.com/forms/century_half_century_awards_application_2019.
