ACRES Land Trust to hold Blue Jean Gala

ACRES Land Trust will hold a Blue Jean Gala at the Joseph Decuis Farm Thursday, June 7. A VIP Preview Party will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. with the Blue Jean Gala taking place from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

ACRES exists the help protect the natural habitats in northeast Indiana, southern Michigan and northwest Ohio. The organization’s goal is to preserve what is left of forests, prairies and wetlands. Its mission is to teach others the value of keeping natural areas intact. The Blue Jean Gala is being held as a fundraiser for the organization.

Since 1960, ACRES Land Trust has acquired over 4,450 acres of significant natural areas, creating preserves both large and small, each with a distinct character and history. The Tel-Hy Nature Preserve is a Huntington County area being maintained and preserved by ACRES. Hanging Rock located along the Wabash River, east of Lagro, is among several other properties cared for by ACRES.

Tickets for the VIP Preview Party are $152 and are limited to 200 tickets, which include the Blue Jean Gala. The Blue Jean Gala Ticket is $52 and is limited to 500 tickets. Volunteers for the Blue Jean Gala receive free admission and a T-shirt to wear at the Gala.

The VIP ticket includes hors d’oeuvres paired with wines by Joseph Decuis Restaurant, a silent auction, special live music and a wagon ride to the Blue Jean Gala. The Blue Jean Gala includes cuisine by Joseph Decuis, wine, microbrew beer, other beverages, guided walks through the woods, carriage rides, farm tours, wagon rides, kids’ activities, a silent auction and raffle and live music.
