ABWA to offer three scholarships

The Forks of the Wabash Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) is offering three $2,000 Impact Scholarships. The scholarships are funded through the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund to support area students.

Each year, the trustees of the Stephen Bufton Memorial Scholarships (SBMEF) award scholarships to female students who will be attending accredited U.S. colleges, universities, and community/vocational schools. Applicants must be citizens of the United States; residents of Huntington County; and attending any college or university, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Applications must be completed by Thursday, March 31, 2016 at A minimum of three eligible applications are required in order for the scholarship to be awarded. The scholarship recipients will be selected by the board of trustees. Scholarship recipients will be notified in May 2016.

ABWA’s national educational fund, SBMEF, is one of the most highly respected grant and scholarship funds in the country. For more than 60 years, ABWA has helped women achieve their business and professional success through the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund. Since its inception, more than 16,000 women nationwide have been awarded more than 17 million dollars in scholarships.
