Posted: Thursday, October 10, 2013

1st Source Bank is inviting clients and members of the community to a celebration in honor of the bank’s 150th anniversary. The weeklong party will take place October 28 through November 1 at the 1st Source Huntington Banking Center located at 1959 N. Jefferson Street.

“We’re excited to celebrate our 150th anniversary with clients and the community,” said Lyle Juillerat, 1st Source Banking Center manager. “150 years is a big milestone and we look forward to being a part of the community for many years to come.”

1st Source Bank is hosting birthday parties this fall at all of its locations. The celebrations are being held between September 5, the anniversary of the bank’s organization, and November 30, the 150th anniversary of when the bank opened its doors.

Founded as the First National Bank of South Bend, 1st Source has a long history as a strong, stable, local and personal bank. In 1931, the bank’s name was changed to the First Bank and Trust Company after a merger engineered by community leaders Ernest Morris and Vincent Bendix. The Morris family has continued to lead the bank since 1931, including Morris’s daughter, Ernestine Morris Carmichael Raclin, and her son-in-law, Christopher J. Murphy III, who continues today as the bank’s Chairman and CEO. Since 1981, the bank has been known as 1st Source Bank.
