12 students honored on Student Awards Day

The Huntington County Chamber of Commerce held its Student Awards Day on Monday, April 17. The event was held at the Huntington North High School Library. The winners of the awards and scholarships are selected each year by their teachers.

This year the Chamber honored twelve students from twelve different disciplines during its April board meeting. The Chamber also awarded three students with a $300 scholarship including Mikayla Shaw, Adam Bonner and Makenzie Hardacre. This year the twelve recipients recognized were Bryce Johnson, Computer Aided Design, sponsored by PHD; Jacob Fowler, Project Lead the Way, sponsored by Shuttleworth; Adam Bonner, Automotive, sponsored by Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems and Jayson Mote, Precision Machining, sponsored by UTEC.

Also honored were Thomas Horn, Interdisciplinary Cooperative Education (I.C.E.), sponsored by Schneider Electric; Mikayla Shaw, Marketing, sponsored by First Federal Savings Bank and Patrick Miller, Business, sponsored by Bowers Brewer Garrett & Wiley LLP.

Other students recognized were Rylie Shipbaugh, Early Childhood Education, sponsored by Beacon Credit Union; Makenzie Hardacre, Education Professions, sponsored by Team Haneline Century 21 Bradley; Jessica Wiley, Family and Consumer Sciences, sponsored by Miller’s Merry Manor; Alexis Miller, Health Services, sponsored by Huntington University and Kylie Sparks, Cosmetology, sponsored by UTEC.
